no need to remove the tank, fish around inside there a little. You will certainly find some wires. theres 2 for relays and 2 for diagnostics
Thanks @cashbrook28 , I'd prefer not to, however based the the directions for the relay that I've seen online it appears that the relay connector sits underneath a panel under the tank. Is that not the case?

You know, it was almost a year ago and have had that tank off a couple times now. I honestly cannot recall.

After referring to my service manual, it does seem to be tucked back far enough removing the tank is the route. I apologize for my earlier comment. After adding all the aftermarket mods I have, I forget what all I had to do for everything lol.

NP at all. I'm still curious if I remove the two tank bolts underneath the seat, how does the tank actually lift unless there is a pivot point at top of the tank or there would need to be other bolts holding the tank towards the front. This was what I originally wanted to confirm.

the other end of the tank has a rod that slides into a rubber bushing, so yes you can lift it a few inches. It would be handy to have someone that can lift the tank and hold it like was commented earlier.

Appreciate it @cashbrook28. Yes I'll have someone hold it and/or I'll have something underneath to hold it up without scratching things up.
